TROPICAL BIRD DISCOVERY
BIRDWATCHING IN THE TROPICAL FOREST OF ISLA GRANDE
The forest is at its most expressive early in the morning. As Isla Grande begins to wake, this guided birdwatching experience leads you beneath the tropical canopy to listen for calls, follow movement through the branches, and observe the remarkable variety of birds that inhabit or pass through the island.
With the help of a guide and binoculars, guests learn to recognize species through their colors, calls, flight patterns, and behavior. Depending on the season and conditions, the experience may reveal both resident and migratory birds within the lush Caribbean landscape surrounding Ordovician.

WHEN THE FOREST BEGINS TO WAKE
Early morning brings a different energy to Isla Grande. Before the day fully unfolds, the forest fills with calls, movement, and flashes of color between the branches.
Rather than simply looking for as many species as possible, the experience invites you to slow down and understand what you are seeing. Your guide helps identify birds by sound and appearance, points out behavior that might otherwise go unnoticed, and shares context about the island’s tropical ecosystem.
On favorable mornings, guests may observe approximately 20 to 25 bird species, although sightings naturally vary with weather, season, and wildlife activity. That unpredictability is part of the experience: the forest sets the agenda.
