THE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND ISLAND LIFE
Most guests experience water at Ordovician without thinking about where it comes from. Behind the scenes, however, an entire process is taking place.
The tour follows seawater as it moves through filtration and reverse osmosis, a process that separates salts and other dissolved substances from the water. From there, the treated water continues through storage and distribution before becoming part of the resort’s daily operation.
It is a short experience, but one that reveals a side of island hospitality guests rarely see: the systems, engineering and careful management required to turn one of Isla Grande’s most abundant natural resources — the Caribbean Sea — into usable fresh water.
